"So he stretched forth his staff over the land...and when it was morning
the wind had brought the Locusts."
Well, the work is all done. Time to finally close this project and move on to the
next. This was the single longest running project I've ever done, roughly four
years or so, and has kept me up to the wee hours on many a night. And it wasn't
just the difficulties inherent with designing a car that followed a completely
different paradigm that made it take so long. I hadn't asked, and no one had bothered
to tell me that something like this can't be done in AutoCAD. Well, this is testimonial
that yes, it can indeed be done! But it was well worth the effort. Besides being
something that I feel is a truly original design that I can always point to and say
"Yeah, I made that", it's also an award winner, right out of the box. It was given
the North Bay Multimedia Association's "Best of the North Bay" award in the category
of 3D digital art (professional) for 2001. But the car would never be truly finished
until there was also an open cockpit version. That now having been accomplished,
it is my honor and pleasure to present the definitive Locust. Nav bar below will
take you to the gallery.
